Prayer Request and Funeral Arrangements for Dominick Bucci

The Funeral Mass for Dominick Bucci will take place on Saturday, September 14th at 10 am. 

It is with deep sadness to inform you that our dedicated parishioner, Dominick Bucci passed away in the hospital on Thursday, September 5th.

Dominick was a devoted leader of church maintenance to make necessary repairs to our church property as well as he was leading new projects such as expansion of the church rectory, renovations of Sunday school, installation of a new boiler and just two months ago installation of a new handicap ramp in the front of the church. He was instrumental in many other projects in the past 20 years. Dominick was predeceased by his parents and son, David C. Bucci.   

We express deepest and heartfelt sympathy to his son Brian, beloved grandchildren, sister, Fran Cuccinello, brother in-law Al Cuccinello, a niece, Lisa Speer and nephew, Albert Cuccinello Jr., several cousins, loving partner Fran Maglio, extended family, other relatives, friends, parishioners of Holy Cross and members of Passaic Valley UNICO. 

May he rest in Peace.

Dominick J. Bucci, of Woodland Park, N.J., passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at the age of 68.

Born and raised in Paterson, N.J., Dominick was the cherished son of Domenico and Arcangela (nee Tiscia) Bucci and spent most of his life in Woodland Park. He was known for his quiet, gentle nature and his immense generosity.

Dominick was a project manager and architect, known for his meticulous eye and dedication to his work. Outside of his career, he was a passionate grill master and a dedicated cook who loved nothing more than sharing a delicious meal with loved ones. Dominick was also an avid gardener. A proud graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), Dominick believed in lifelong learning and continued his studies, taking classes at Rutgers University well into his later years. He served as the former president of Passaic Valley UNICO and was a devoted parishioner of Holy Cross Church in Woodland Park.

Predeceased by his parents and son, David C. Bucci, he is survived by his son, Brian J. Bucci; extremely loving partner, Frances Maglio; dear sister, Frances Cuccinello, along with her husband, Al. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, a niece and nephew, extended family, friends, and his loyal dog, Arabella, all of whom will deeply miss him.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 14th at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, 220 Browertown Road, Woodland Park. Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls, N.J. Memories and condolences may be shared at the Funeral Home website.

Bishop Bernard Nowicki Incardinates Deacon Mark Koscinski as a Deacon in the PNCC. 

On Sunday\, May 26th at 11 am Holy Mass, Rt. Rev. Bernard Nowicki, Bishop of the Central Diocese PNCC incardinated Deacon Mark Koscinki as a Deacon serving iin the Central Diocese of the Polish National Catholic Church.  

Deacon Mark went through years of Diaconate education and training in the diocese and at our parish. He previously served for 15 years as a Deacon in another Christian denomination.  

We are very happy having this special celebration in our parish.  Our parish will now have a second deacon serving in addition to Deacon Bill Gaydos.   

I am confident that the service of Deacon Mark Koscinski would bring spiritual benefit to our parish.

Deacon Mark Koscinski, a certified public accountant, was born and raised in Sayreville NJ.  He has been a lifelong resident of New Jersey.  Deacon Mark, with his wife Susan and dog Molly, lives in Phillipsburg, NJ.  Currently, he is an associate professor of accounting at the Moravian University School of Business and Economics.  He also helps out with the Catholic on Campus Club at Moravian.  Deacon Mark was tonsured into the clergy in 2002 and was ordained a subdeacon and then deacon in 2006.  He has a degree in religion from Drew University and is currently attending Lancaster Theological Seminary on a part-time basis.  Deacon Mark looks forward to helping both Holy Cross Church and the Central Diocese.

St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon – March 10th

Join us on Sunday, March 10th at 12 P.M. (after 11 A.M. Holy Mass) for our St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon along with Irish Music.

The menu includes: Corned Beef, Cabbage, Potatoes, Baked Chicken, Variety of Vegetables, Assorted Breads, Irish Soda Bread, Coffee / Tea, Irish Coffee, Desserts. Take outs are available.

Dinners are Adults: $20 Children and youth attending Sunday School – Free. Other Children ages 6 -14 – $10

There will be a Basket of Irish Cheer / Door Prize
