Poetry for Mother’s Day

Mother by Unknown Author

Mom is such
A special word
The loveliest
I’ve ever heard.
A toast to you
Above all the rest
Mom, you’re so special
You are simply the best.

Everything Mom by Joanna Fuchs

How did you find the energy, Mom
To do all the things you did,
To be teacher, nurse and counselor
To me, when I was a kid.
How did you do it all, Mom,
Be a chauffeur, cook and friend,
Yet find time to be a playmate,
I just can’t comprehend.

I see now it was love, Mom
That made you come whenever I’d call,
Your inexhaustible love, Mom
And I thank you for it all.

Adoration Society News

Last Sunday the ANS sold stuffed cabbage in between Holy Masses. Renata volunteered her time and talent to help raise money for the Society by preparing this delicacy. We thank her for offering to do this and we thank those who support us. There may be a few in the freezer, for sale, if you missed out last week. DELICIOUS!

The annual ANS Agape was held in Wallington last Sunday. It was truly inspiring. The imagery of our sins completely disappearing was amazing! We each wrote what bothered us most on a special piece of paper. One by one, we were escorted to the altar; put the paper in a bowl of water and it disappeared. As always, Father Nowicki did a wonderful job putting the service together and the Wallington Parish prepared a fantastic meal. They were very welcoming. It was nice to see so many priests from the Seniorate in attendance.

On April 22nd the ANS is having Bring A Sister Sunday. It will be held in between Masses. We will have a short meeting and introduce interested woman to what we usually do. There will be no pressure to join, but new members are very welcome at anytime.

Helping Youngsters – a Simple Project of our Stewardship Committee

This project aims to assist youngsters in Woodland Park’s schools. You will have one month to contribute to the group. We hope that when you are shopping, or cleaning out, or find something you don’t need, you can bring it to church, drop it in the basket and help out. We are starting with the youngsters in Woodland Park Schools. When you are food shopping or in the supermarket or drug store and see a pack of pencils, a notebook, award stickers, or coloring books (or anything a child would love to get) please buy it. When you come to church anytime during the month drop it in the box. You decide this month if you can share your time, talent, or treasure. May God bless your generosity.

Pasta Dinner – a wonderful celebration of God’s blessings

On Saturday, February 18th our parish, in conjunction with Passaic Valley UNICO, hosted a pasta dinner. There were over eighty adults and some children in attendance. The Italian music, door prizes, and 50/50 raffle made the evening an enjoyable event. The church and UNICO raised $500 each. We thank those who decorated the parish hall, prepared homemade meat balls, brought in delicious desserts, served at the dinner, and cleaned up after the event. Bless all those who attended the dinner in support of our parish and UNICO.
