Prayer shawls / blankets for the sick and homebound were made in the parish hall by the members of the Polish National Union of America District #2 and some members of the parish Adoration Society on Wednesday, May 17th. We remember the sick and homebound and wish them well.
You are cordially invited for a Pancake Breakfast and Stuffed Cabbage Sale on Sunday, November 17th starting at 10 am. Adults are $10, Children under 18 free. The menu includes pancakes, bacon, eggs, fresh fruits, juice, coffee. Home-made Stuffed Cabbages are $2.50 each.
On Sunday, November 24th the ANS will hold a bake sale after each Holy Mass.
Our Adoration Society annual luncheon was held on Sunday, June 3rd. The luncheon recognizes and thanks all members for their service for the well being of our parish. New members are welcome to join. Please contact Penni at 973-768-7917 for more information or other members of the society.
Thank you to all who attended our Parish Picnic. Thank you to all who donated hot dishes, salads or desserts for the picnic. We all enjoyed it very much. We thank those who served in the kitchen. We appreciate the service of Sunday School teachers Mrs. Donna, Mr. Paul and Ms. Natalie for providing Face Painting and games for our children.
Adoration Society members prepared three dozen of flowers for patients living at Care One, in Wayne, NJ on Saturday, May 19th. Thank you for your service and charity.

On Sunday, March 5th, members of the Adoration Society (ANS) held their monthly meeting. During the meeting, inspired by information presented at the Diocesan ANS Convention last year, they made eight Prayer Blankets for cancer patients and shut its. The blankets were blessed on Sunday, March 12th.
On Sunday Sept. 18, 2016 the NY/NJ Seniorate Adoration Society (ANS) held the annual convention at our parish.
The delegates came from SS. Peter and Paul Parish in Passaic with their Pastor, Very Rev. Stanley Skrzypek, Holy Name of Jesus, Passaic, NJ with Rev. Marian Tarnowski, delegates from Transfiguration of Our Lord Parish in Wallington, NJ and the host members of our parish ANS with Fr. Joseph.

The meeting began with the prayer service in the church with the exposition and the Litany of the Most Blessed Sacrament. Fr. Joseph led the service and in his sermon he spoke about the importance of the Holy Eucharist which we have the privilege to venerate and receive in the Holy Communion. Altar server was Gabriela Rotsaert.
The meeting continued in the parish hall with reports from ANS activities in different parishes, election of officers for year 2016-2017, Oath of the new members, prayers for the deceased members and the meeting was concluded with dinner and refreshments.
Before the election of officers, the Vice-President Alice Kriskewic asked to be replaced by the new officer. We thanked Alice for many years of her dedication and service. We thanked also Mrs. Stella Zak who recently stepped down from her 15 years of service as the recording secretary.

The next year’s convention will take place on Sunday, September 24, 2017 in Wallington, NJ at 3 pm.
On Sunday January 4th members of the Adoration Society (ANS) organized the New Year’s Brunch after the 11 am Holy Mass. They shared home made food with orzo pasta salad, ambrosio, french toast, Spanish rice, quiche, cakes, brownies, rice pudding and more …. and also enjoyed grab gift exchange.
The Adoration Society, the Holy Church’s oldest Society, has been taking care of the church sanctuary by purchasing candles, liturgical linens, and vestments and also making sure that liturgical vessels are in proper condition. They have done so since the parish was established. Together with the daughters of the Holy Cross they also help the parish purchase necessary items for the rectory. These ladies are a great asset to the parish. We thank them for their support and involvement in the life of Holy Cross Church.

This year the annual Adoration Society of the New York/New Jersey Seniorate Agape celebration will take place at Holy Cross parish on Sunday March 17th at 3:30 P.M. Parishioners from NY/NJ Seniorate are invited to attend this annual event. This Agape celebration will commemorate the feast of Passover in the Jewish faith as well as the last feast of Passover celebrated by our Lord with His disciples. Refreshments will be provided afterward.
The New York-New Jersey Seniorate ANS Convention was visited by our newly ordained Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Bernard Nowicki and his wife Barbara. The Bishop noted that he is looking forward to working with the other Bishops to energize our churches and help us to feel more connected.
We thank all the members of ANS especially Nelly Cabrejos, Renata Cyman, Alice Kriskewic, Penni Lazor, Nancy Mupo, Helen Skawinski, and Elaine Rotsaert, who devoted so much time and energy to hosting the convention. They prepared a delicious meal, the hall was decorated and the Church was so colorful with the addition of mums, thank you Penni. Everyone put in a lot of time to make this possible. We thank Judy Lamping for the hours that she volunteered so that the members could be present at the meeting and not worry about the kitchen.
The next meeting of the parish ANS will be on October 14th. We are trying to plan a bus trip for the near future.
Our Adoration Society and Daughters of Holy Cross along with their helpers are thanked for organizing a Flea market on Saturday June 2nd. Household goods, antiques, toys and many other items were available.
We thank parishioners and outside vendors who rented space – tables and supported the event.
We thank men who set up the hall on Thursday and the ladies who sold food in our kitchen.
Our children sold lemonade gave a warm welcome to everyone who came for the event.
