We thank everyone for attending our Father’s Day Breakfast on Sunday, June 16th, especially women from the Adoration Society who served Father’s Day breakfast. We extend our best wishes to all Fathers of our parish and men who fulfill their father’s role in daily life. May the Lord bless all Fathers living and deceased.
There were seven parishioners of Holy Cross Parish attending Agape, the Last Supper of Jesus, organized by N/Y N/J Seniorate Adoration Society at SS Peter & Paul parish on March 17th at 3 PM. It was a spiritually filled event with two hours of retreat reflecting on Passover and Last Supper of Jesus.
We thank those who prepared and served the meal on Sunday, February 11th. I was glad to have my sister, niece and her two daughters with me that day – Fr. Joseph and family
Our annual Nativity Pageant took place during our Christmas Eve Holy Mass with youth participation. The children dressed in costumes to portray the Nativity: Mary, Joseph, Angles, Shepherds, Kings, and a Little Lamb. Families and friends enjoyed the Mass with beautiful Christmas music in the beautifully decorated church sanctuary and altar. We would like to thank the youth who participated in this annual special event and their parents who supported this activity, bringing children for practices. We thank Sunday School teachers Ms. Natalie and Mr. Paul for providing lessons to our children. – Father Joseph and Deacon Bill
On Sunday, December 10th dozens of parishioners attended our annual Christmas Dinner. The children and all attendees enjoyed Christmas music and a great menu consisting of Baked Salmon, Pork Roast, Chicken Marsala, Beef Empanadas, Spanish Rice, Scalloped Potatoes, Mixed Vegetables, Salad, Bread & Rolls, Assorted Desserts.
We thank all those who attended this event, especially the parents for bringing their children. The children of Holy Cross are special and very important to our parish. Santa (St. Nicholas) came with his Elf helper and gave presents to all the children. He told them to listen and help their parents and be well behaved. Lots of pictures taken with Santa.

The Sacrament of Confirmation was administered by Rt. Rev. Bernard Nowicki. Holy Mass was concelebrated Pastor, Rev. Joseph Cyman, with the help of Deacon William Gaydos.
We enjoyed the reception after the Mass in the Parish Hall. I thank all those who helped to organize reception and cleaning after the event. Sacrament of Confirmation is fulfilment of the Sacrament of baptism and beginning of deeper involvement in the life of the church. New Confirmands are asked to serve in different ministries building the church which Jesus established for our salvation.
On Sunday, June 11th, on the Sunday in the Octave of Corpus Christi, a special Mass and Procession took place at St. Peter and Paul parish in Passaic at 3 pm. In the picture are clergy of NY/NJ Seniorate and some parishioners attending the celebration.
Two priests who recently retired, Fr. Jan Kosc and Fr. Marian Tarnowski received recognition and special plaques for their faithful service.
A reception followed. We thank St. Peter and Paul Parish for hosting this event.
The parish town picnic, held Sunday, June 4th, was a huge success. It got bigger this year.
As always, the food was delicious and plentiful. Thank you to the chefs Ed Obssuth, Dave Obssuth, Dominick Bucci and Tracey Banta for a job well done. Thanks to all that donated desserts and homemade dishes to share with friends. We thank those who set up the hall and tents before the event: Penni Lazor, Fran Cuccinello, Matthew Daniewski, Dominick Bucci and those who cleaned after the event, Hernan Patino, Laura Orrego, Diego Ochoa, Iris Miolan and others. I was impressed seeing so much new energy in many parishioners helping at the picnic. Children and adults enjoyed fun and games including a 16’ water slide, dunk tank, “blake the clown”, face painting, balloon twisting, a touch of nature (20 animals on display that gave some educational tips). Many thanks to the Picnic Committee for planning and volunteering their time and talent to make the day fun filled for the young and adults.
Parishioners, friends, children, neighbors and Woodland Park residents all came together and enjoyed the afternoon festivities.
Many thanks to all that participated in any way with helping to make it a great day for all. This event was considered as an outreach program to our community supported by the diocese. As a result, we had people who signed up to become members of our parish and their children will attend First Holy Communion and Confirmation classes.
